Are Vampires Really Sinners?

There's been a war in my head about Vampires lately... (Probably because I've been readin and watchin Vampire Knight)

A friend of mine suggested I write a story about Vampires...

I have a good plot, but I've just been wondering...

Why are vampires considered bad?
Why are they considered sinners? (Looked a little deeper into the history of Vampires one night when I was bored and couldn't sleep)

Does anyone have a good answer for this? .___.

  1. I don't know too much about Vampires.... But I do know that most Vampires are either portrayed as bad (like Dracula) or as sparkly (like Twilight).
Maybe they are considered bad because they drink people's blood? I mean, if someone came up to me and started to drink my blood without my consent, I would get angry, upset, and afraid.
....Not that I would ever give anyone my consent to drink my blood in the first place. xD

Hope that helped a little bit.

  2. Have you ever heard of Vilad the Impaler? He was some kind of, king, or something.
No wait, sorry, he was a prince. He lived in the 1400 hundreds.

You can find out more about him here.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlad_the_Impaler

Anyways, basically, he was a wicked man who used to kill people in horrible ways. He would hide in the dark and sneak up on them, and is believed he even drank the blood of those he killed. But he is where vampires came from. The legend sprang from his life. And I think that is why vampires are considered evil. (Also, the blood drinking might be part of it.)

  3. why vampires are bad? well, ultimately it springs back to older legends, where vampires are the end-result of demons forcing humans to drink their blood, after sucking their own, to make more of the wee critters. Fast forward a few centuries, to Bram Stoker's "Dracula". Now, obviously, we have a vamp here. but several time in here, scripture is quoted, particlarly the quote "The blood is the life", referring to the obvious, that without blood, we cannot live physically. not to mention that as a vampire, you essentially are damned, to never rest, or to die for real, consumed with darkness and evil, destroying lives, and taking them. etc. etc. etc.
